Premier Jewelry Party

Question: What is the average price of jewelry at a premier jewelry party?
I am going to one and would like to have an idea to know if I will be able to buy anything.
Answer: I sell Premier and the average price is between $20 and $30. It is all very affordable and it is guaranteed for manufacturer defects. It is really more about having fun and getting ladies together than making money! Don't feel bad if you can't buy. Go anyway!
If you love the jewelry but can't afford to buy much. I recommend that you hold a small show or get some catalog orders. You will earn FREE jewelry just as the hostess of this party will.
Have fun! Go prepared to have a great time!

Making Fused Glass Jewelry

Question: Can I use sculpey for making a glass fusing mold?
I want to create a cheap small jewelry-sized mold of a ribbon (think Breast cancer ribbon pins.) Could Sculpey, when baked, handle temps of up to 1700 degrees F?
Answer: Absolutely not - it is PVC - like water pipe.
Your best bet is to buy gray or white pottery clay and cut the mold or press your original in it (as you were probably going to do with the Sculpey, then let dry and fire in your kiln - all it has to do is get a bit hotter than your fusing. It helps (may be required, but I always do it) to use glass separator or kiln wash on the clay mold. If precision is required, allowance will have to be made for both the clay and glass shrinking. My use of clay is recorded here http://users.ticnet.com/mikefirth/warmglas.htm#BOWLMOLD not shown is the mold for the vertical piece in the first image on the page which was white clay pressed on shaped cookie sheet for small square cookies.
