Question: Patterns for making a summer dress?
I would really like to make my own summer dress, but have no patterns to go by. I just got done searching Google, but I am not sure what to type up. Does anybody have any sites that they would recommend that has some nifty patterns?
Thanks!
Oh, if you are curious as to what kind of summer dress I have my eye on, this is the kind, but any would really do.

I really like the style...with the spagetti straps and how it's kind of flowy.
Oops! Wrong link! LOL I clicked on an individual dress, so let's try this link.

Answer: go to http://1sewingpatterns.com
You can browse all the major brand patterns online there.
You can purchase them online or at fabric stores. Chains like JoAnn Fabrics and places like WalMart or Hobby Lobby all carry Simplicity, McCalls, Butterick, Vogue, and usually Kwik Sew. Fabric stores will generally carry Burda and New Look.
Simplicity, McCalls, Vogue, and Burda and the better pattern company (of the common ones). Simplicity, Vogue, and Burda are going to carry more stylish clothing. Simplicity is going to be the easiest to sew up. I don't recommend Kwik Sew or Butterick.
If you want to order online (like from that site I linked to), other great companies are Hot Patterns and Loes Hinse. For Hot Patterns, I'd go to their site as they have a bigger selection there - I think it's http://hotpatterns.com google it if it's not. They've got some really nifty stuff, a bit more intricate sometimes, but really worth it.
Edit - I looked at your link - that's a pretty simple dress, you should probably be able to find something like that in a Simplicity or McCalls book. If not, check Burda. It's not much more than a tank dress with a zipper. It will be your fabric selection that will make it flowy like that. Pay attention to the fabric recommendations - make sure it says you can use things like Challis, Gauze, Lightweight Cottons, Rayons, Linens instead of things like Jersey and Double Knits...
