Making Jewelry Displays

making jewelry displays
Question: selling jewelry at a garage sale..how should I display them? =]

So our family is have a garage sale next weekend and we are selling a lot of jewelry including necklaces, earrings, rings, pins, bracelets and a lot more.. Most of it is valuable and we don't want it to get stolen.

So, my question is, do you have any ideas about how I could display all the jewelry in a way that it can't get stolen (like tied to something) and it would be high enough to see and eye-catching to people.

Thanks a lot!

ps. i also have a lot of jewlery in my room that I want to display nicely so I can have easy access to it. right now, I have my jewlery in containers and I need a better and cheap way I could hang the jewlery on my dresser..(I dont want anything hanging on my walls)
You know I want some ideas that I could make myself, if not something that looks like a coffee mug holder.
a shower rod is way to0 big..

Answer: 1. You can display earrings and stuff like that by sticking them in a pin-board or that cork material and put the pinboard high so people cant reach them
2. A glass case or soemthing like that
3. Also to display jewelry nicley you can by a cheap photoframe and put some tulle material in place of where the photo should go and then put earings through the holes in the material! i have made it and it looks really cool!

Make your own Jewelry Display Case/Rack for $3 or less & make it in less than 10 minutes

Home Business Jewelry

Question: How do I start a home jewelry party business?

I want to find hostesses to have home parties and let me sell my jewelry there. Where do I start? I already have a website for my jewelry.

Answer: The best way to get started is to have your own home jewelry party and do a presentation persuading guests to become agents for your jewelry. It has to be worth their while so come up with a workable reward system. Think of hooking up with other home business owners to offer a variety of products at a home party such as clothing, soaps and candles.

Jewelry Home Business

Question: I'm 14 and I want to start a jewelry business from my home. What are the legal ramifications?

I'm kind of lost as to if I need a business license or not. I would advertise of course by business cards, classified ad, fliers, phone calls, going to arts and crafts fairs and such. I'm just wondering about how I can do this legally.

Answer: Adding to the previous answer the reason for the legal age of 18 is the ability to enter into legal binding contracts. You will need a business license and tax ID if you start your own business. You will need to collect sales tax in your state (if this applies). Being this sounds like solely from home/internet check with your city or county on what is needed for a home business. You need to be clear this is not a consultant based business but a sole proprietorship, You will also need to check with your state to see if your chosen business name is available for use to prevent trademark or copyright infringement. Being jewelry you will also need to be careful of lead regulations and possible lead testing. If any of your pieces will be intended for the use of anyone 12 and under, there are child product safety laws to follow. Check with your local small business administration for additional assistance. They will be best equipped to give you a direction for your business. Good luck!
