Question: I will be having a Cake Tasting Party---how much cake samples & cakes to buy to supply??
My friend is doing a jewelry party and i will be doing a cake tasting party together. I will be doing between 4-6 different flavor cakes. How much cake should I make for sampling and how much to make for buying on the spot? This will be my first cake tasting party and I am hoping to generate business for the holiday season. ( I already know about licensing and all that) I usually just make whole cakes for celebrations. I will have pictures of previous cakes as well as business cards/flyers.
Answer: I would have six different cakes , if you are trying for the holiday rush. Have 3 of each on hand if a buyer wants to take one home. You will have more business with the tasting. The ones who take it home want to get feedback from the rest of the group. I would keep a few samples in reserve in case all the cakes are bought and you still have customers who want another individuals input.
