Jewelry Party Invitations

Question: How should I politely say NO...again?

My boyfriend's sister is a jewelry representative and sells jewelry on the side. She and her mother have asked me several times to both host and attend jewelry parties. I have told them that I just don't have the money to come and buy from her and I really don't want to ask that of my friends either. I've run out of acceptable excuses. What is a polite way to say NO to the most recent invitation I received?

Answer: Just tell them firmly but politely that you aren't interested. Maybe try saying, "As much as I know you would like me to buy and sell jewelry with you, I'm afraid that it is just not for me. It is simply out of my reach. But thank you for the offers anyway." Don't sound apologetic about it either, otherwise they probably will come back trying to get you to buy and sell again. Just be firm yet respectful.

Beginner Making Jewelry

Question: Beginner jewelry making?

What items do i need to get started, any ideas on where to buy, and what kinda projects should i start with? Any advice about jewelry making would be helpful. And when the beads are sold on strads, i dont understand that?!?! Thanks for the help!

Answer: well I took jewelry in school for a semester, and we started with making rings with just wires. There are these principles of design to incorporate them in. They are variety, rhythm, balance, emphasis, movement, proportion, and unity. srry but I don't know where you can get them..and they sell beads in strands and not bags or boxes. it's just how they come in...if you have anymore question or want definition on these things mail me at [email protected]

Making Christmas Beaded Jewelry

Question: Selling hemp jewelry at work and need to know about prices?

I made a necklace just for fun and now everyone at work wants a necklace, bracelet, or anklet. Plus I am going to make some for christmas and birthdays. Point being. I need to know what prices would be best. I've spent a total of 40$ all together on hemp, beads, and ect. So the first one someone bought was for 5$ but I think that's a little low. Help?

Answer: If you'd like you can take a look at the price ranges on my hemp store http://selenia.etsy.com - super simple bracelets and things like that I usually sell for $5, pricing beaded stuff really depends on the types of beads that get used on the piece. Also if you're doing something more complex then just a normal square knot you'd want to adjust the price for that too (a 16 inch alternating square knot necklace without beads, for example, starts at $20 for me because of the labor involved).
