Beads For Jewelry Making

Question: With beading/jewelry making, how do you get the ends to keep the beads on without tying ugly knots?
Stupid question? Probably ... lol
I just took an interest in this and bought a few bits and peices, I have the wires and some clasps and jump rings and earring hooks etc but I cannot figure out if the vital missing peice is crimps?
When , for example I thread an earring I am knotting the end or the wire so the beads dont fall off and then when I get to the top, what do I? I cant tie a knot to the earring hook it look ugly...
I need something so I can loop the wire through the earring hook and then put the clamp thing around the two pieces and squeeze them together... so I dont need to tie a knot...
Gees for something so simple I hope Im not confusing you too much - I know exactly what I mean and I thought it was crimps that I needed but on Ebay most say crimp/spacers instead of just crimp... are crimp and spacers the same thing? I didnt think they were... now I dont know if It was crimps I was after...
What do I need?
Thanks & sorry its so confusing!!!
Answer: the best way would be to crimp the beads. here is a link on how to properly work with crimp beads.

Business Home Jewelry Party

Question: I recently started my own business making jewelry. How do I get my designs out there?
I tried craft shows but they have become more like a flea market. I am just starting doing home parties, but people are so sick of home parties with co.'s like Lia Sophia. (my jewelry is better and less expensive by the way) Where do I start?
Answer: If you are interested in doing upscale art shows look into SUNSHINE ARTIST magazine. It has oodles of contact information and show reviews to help you avoid shows with bad reputation or poor operators. If you want to stay local check out your local hospital they will often have holiday craft shows. Check with local galleries and gift shops, they may want to do consignment, but get a clear written agreement that details the consignment fee and when it is paid. Where you live may have a local artist association, this is a good resource for contacts, vendors and shows. (They may even sponsor a local artist studio tour). For developing your business skill set check out CRAFTS REPORTS at you local library. Good Luck!

Jewelry Party
Jewelry At Home Business

Question: What is the best way to start a Jewelry Business which I can sell at house parties?
Has anybody ever has a business like Tupperware or MaryKay? How do you organize the parties? What do you offer to the host/hostess of the party to compensate them for the use of thier home? How do you market and/or advertise the party?
Thank you
Answer: There are several options for home jewelry parties. The best of them pay the hostess benefits so your profit is solely your profit. When I was researching which jewelry company to go with I looked for:
- initial start up costs
- monthly fees (if any)
- inventory requirements
- incentives for team building and minimums for overrides (the money you make off your team)
- host(ess) incentives and who pays for them
- credit card processing and who pays the fees
- who pays state sales tax
Finally, check and see if the company you are looking at is part of the direct selling association.
I'm a lia sophia advisor and can tell you that lia sophia offers incredible hostess benefits that make it easy to get hostesses to book parties. The hostess can get up to 40% of the sales from her party in jewelry plus great discounts on personal jewelry purchases. And again, the company pays that benefit so the advisor has little out of pocket expense.
The hostess does most of the marketing for her party at work, schools, church etc using flyers/postcards you create as well as electronic invites.
I market my business at local job fairs, craft shows etc.
Drop me a line if you'd like to learn more.
