Home Party Jewelry

home party jewelry
Question: what would you rather buy? Jewelry, Cosmetics, or candles?

I am thinking about selling from home parties either Jewelry, cosmetics, or candles.
Which would you rather buy, and why?
which would be "easier" to sell, and why?

Answer: I love candles and burn them almost every day so I enjoy home parties with candles. I will usually be more likely to buy candles at a home party because retail candle shops don't usually actually have the candles burning, so I can't really determine how they will smell or see how cleanly they burn. At a home party there will be several candles burning so I can really experience them. I am picky about my candles though, I will only buy those that are made with vegetable waxes and cotton wicks. I don't like the ones that are made from paraffin wax or have metal core wicks.

I'm not as fond of Jewelry and cosmetic parties and I'm less likely to buy much at those. Jewelry is everywhere and usually at more affordable prices than the "home party" brands. Many people make their own jewelry - it's really not that difficult or expensive. I seem prone to losing earrings so I don't like to buy expensive jewelry.

I don't wear a lot of cosmetics, so I only need to buy what I do use once or twice a year.

However, you might want to consider that you may not need to choose - some companies have more than one product line. For example, one of my friends is a distributor for Scent-sations which has both candles and cosmetics.

Christian Jewelry Home Business

Question: Does extreme Christianity hold women back financially and in general in a brutal world for a single woman?

I was raised in a very strict UPC home. My mom become more of a nominal christian and I tried to do the same. I was just a believer but always felt guilty that I was in sin because I wore pants every now and then. I became very savy and got what i wanted in business. At the same time I was very afraid of men.
Anyways, I kind of had remorse and felt guilty about not being UPC. I went back to their beliefs and became a fanatical religious person. I gave up pants, makeup, jewelry, secular music, TV and become a very religious women to the core. My career went down hill and became poor. I could no longer be savy and had to do the right thing always. I stopped looking even remotely attractive but I am decently attractive because I have a nice outgoing personality.

Now I am dealing with some sharks at work from the East Coast and want to step it up a notch. I am from the West Coast.

Answer: The bible was written in a time when there were very few single women, as most got married directly out of their father's household. Most of the restrictions put on women apply to married women.

As far as haivng a career, a woman may have one. The only prohibition is that women shouldn't put their careers above their kids if they have them. God recognized that women were more nurtuting and better suited to raise kids than men, while men had physical strength which suited them for manual labor (Which was the majoirty of the employment at the time). So he basically told women that bc childbearing was hard, you get a pass on breadwinning (See the Genesis account immediately after the fall for verificaiton). The husband doesn't go through childbirth, so his duty is to provide for his wife.

Now as a single woman, you have to provide for yourself, so working is absolutely fine. In the other areas (TV, music, makeup, jewelery, etc.) consider each carefully for yourself and don't let someone's interpretaiton necessarily be your own. Makeup and jewelery are vanity, so while there's no prohibition against wearing them. Christians are to look to inner beauty first... outer beauty at the expense of humility or selflessness. Makeup is an attempt to cover-up a percieved flaw in appearance. But unless you're a burn victim or something.... you're beatuiful just the way you are. Secular music and television are not in and of themselves bad, only are they bad in the event they espouse anti-Christian messages (Fornication, hate, violence, etc.).

As far as getting ahead in work, you're in a dilema. To quote Jesus properly, "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil". If you do work solely in the pursuit of money, you are in error. But if you are merely providing enough for yourself and your loved ones, and your faith is in God first, you should be fine being competitive.
