Question: I need some advise to open small retail business on-line.?
I like to sell my handmade jewelry online, but I don't know how to. Please tell me the best website I should use as starter, fee, lisence etc. Also, things I need to know and need to be careful. Any tips for success! Thanks!
Answer: Consider a cheap webhosting site like doteasy (among many many others). Most of those $9.99 webhosting sites also have a feature that allow you to build your own website - or barter out the duty with some lovely handmade baubles. You can list (for free) for such services on craigslist. Attend gem shows, craft fairs, craft stores and hand out cards - also have samples of your work.
Good luck! If I were to have my own business I would want to do handmade jewelry too!

Question: So much hype around "social media" at the moment- anyone out there with any tips for a small business?
my wife and her brother own a jewellery shop in Dublin which is a little out of the way, and advertising budgets are limited... any ideas on how we can promote it using social media techniques? Anyone had any success with this?
