Question: Jewellery making UK supplies?

I'm looking for kitsch vintage and retro style charms, not the average types you see everywhere. Think punky pins and Lady luck rules ok...I'm looking for a mix of metal, enamel and plastic charms especially flat back ones as I would like to make stud earrings - check out my online shop to see what I am looking for www.magicalice.co.uk Just look for any new places I can shop.

Answer: Try www.stitchncraft.co.uk they supply unusual beads and stuff and may be able to help.

Question: How can I keep nipple piercings from developing too much crust?

I have both my nips pierced (since last November). Their healing has been uneventful as I followed the aftercare guidelines as best I could. Now I can remove them easily to clean them. The problem is that they seem to need cleaning often. I've read and was told that some piercings form crusts continually, long after they've healed. Mine tend to develop a slight crust each day and sometimes there is a faint odour - nothing that makes me suspect infection but something I do notice.

My question is this - is there something I can use to reduce the crusting to a minimum? I have stretched ears and swear by tea tree oil to keep them supple and clean. I apply this every time I shower and/or wash my jewelry. Will tea tree oil be a good idea? Is there something else out there that achieves the same results?

Answer: Wait . . . you shouldn't be removing your piercings to clean them; you should be able to clean them just fine when they're in your nipples.

It's hard to know how much of a crust you're talking about, but yes, it's common for them to have a small bit of dried crustiness every day until they're fully healed (and every afterwards). It shouldn't be a huge amount, and it should be easy to wash away with hot water in the shower or bath.

As far as I know, there's nothing you can do to reduce the crusting- it's just normal and natural. I am hesitant to put anything on your nipples other than cleanser when you're washing them, but I would suggest asking your piercer about the tea tree oil.

Hope that helps!

Question: where can i find celluloid, plastic, or metal roses for jewelry making?

I just started making jewelry and I cannot find any celluloid roses anywhere! Please help!!

Answer: I haven't checked their websites for the roses, but my favorite sources are FireMountain Gems, Goody Beads, Oriental Trading, Joann's.

The most likely would be Fire Mountain. You would be amazed at what they have. Metal shapes, ceramic shapes, glass shapes.....

They have $5 shipping for anywhere in US, any size order.
